Frequently Asked Questions on wedding

Which moments should be included when planning the wedding portfolio?
One size does not fit all. The will-be bride and groom will make a choice according to their specific needs concerning time, schedule and budget, in order to make the wedding album reflect their individual personality, tastes and style.
However, there are moments through which the photographer, by adding his own style, can help create a personalized wedding storyboard: the bride’s dressing up, the wedding walk and the reception are my favourite.

What does a standard wedding portfolio include?
The moments which are normally portrayed in a wedding portfolio are: the bride’s dressing up, the marriage ceremony, rice throwing, the bride and groom’s walk, the wedding reception, the wedding cake. The wedding portfolio can be completely personalized by adding or eliminating specific moments according to the couple’s desires. Please, see also Services.

How many pictures will be included in the wedding album?
The standard wedding portfolio (starting with the bride dressing up and ending with the wedding cake) consists of 300 pictures. The couple will be able to easily choose among these the final pictures that will form the wedding album.

We would love to have a very spontaneous and handoff portfolio, but we would like to combine it with some posed photographs. Is that feasible?
Spontaneous and natural people and situations are definitively my favourite when working on a wedding portfolio. I believe they add spontaneity to the wedding tale, making it real and non artificial. The visual memory of such an extraordinary day cannot, however, neglect shots with the invitees who are closer to the couple. For this reason, I will be happy to personalize the portfolio with dedicated posed photographs with relatives and friends.

We would love to have some pictures of the two of us alone. We wouldn’t like to let our invitees wait for us for too long, though. Is that possible?
Absolutely. As a rule, I never suggest walks that would keep the bride and groom away from their guests for too long. Your wedding is first of all your own celebration: therefore, you should enjoy it with your relatives and friends rather than with your photographer! Normally, the walk does not require more than 20/30 minutes in order to provide enough shots to lavishly cover this part of the wedding day

We love your style. How can we make sure that you will be the one actually taking care of the photographs at our wedding day?
This is very easy. When I sign a contract with a couple who wants my photographic services, I state that I will be the one personally looking after every stage of the photographic process. Only for specific needs, and with the agreement of the couple, I could be accompanied by another photographer. I firmly believe in clarity and professionalism is a must in my work.

We would like to have a photo album that preserves and gives value to our photos. At the same time, cumbersome and heavy albums are not our style. Is there any alternative you could advise on?
There are many wedding album alternatives you will be choosing among, with different sizes and styles that will be able to satisfy both modern or more traditional tastes and preferences. If you are interested in a high-quality but small-size option, photobook may be what you were looking for. Photobook has an innovative, fresh, resistant and highly adaptable format.

How many pictures will make up the wedding album?
Normally, between 70 and 100 pictures are a suitable number to guarantee that the book highlights all the special moments of the day. Those albums which include too many pictures run the risk to be redundant and, not to be neglected, are also cumbersome and inconvenient to handle and carry around!

Are the files high-definition?
Absolutely. Every file that will be given to you will be high-definition. You will be able to print them where and when you prefer. I will be happy to advise you, whether you will be interested in entrusting me also with the print service.

Who will choose the photos that will be included in the wedding album and who will be putting it together?
The bride and groom will be the ones deciding which pictures will build the wedding album. As far as the layout and design are concerned, I will take care of these aspects, by selecting a layout that makes the most of the pictures.

We would like to have colour pictures for our album, but we would also like to have some of them in black and white. Is that possible?
Yes. The pictures will be taken with colours, while, upon your request and in the post-production stage, I will be able to change some of the most evocative in black and white. I use post-production tools that are extremely professional and tailor-made on each picture. The principle that drives my work is quality over quantity. If you would like to take a look at some of my black and white pictures, please click on the Gallery link.

How many days will you require to prepare the portfolio and hand it in?
45 days will be needed, starting from the day in which the photographs are taken.

Photographs are our main choice, but we would also like to have a video-recorded memory of our wedding. Could you also provide that?
Yes. I have established a long-lasting and fruitful partnership with a professional of the video recording sector, to whom I entrust the requests for videos. Our style, driving principles and professionalism match: for these reasons, I trust him blindly and I guarantee on the very high standard of his services.

In which areas do you work?
I mainly work in the greater Rome area, but I have also accepted jobs in other Italian regions. I am completely flexible about moving in Italy or abroad to the venue of your wedding.

Do you normally do site inspections before the wedding day?
If the church or the wedding venue requires it, due for example to limited space, unfavourable lightening conditions, or potentially troubling locations, I do site inspections, in order to detect potential obstacles and find solutions to be put in place on the wedding day. In the other cases, and in particular in the case of venues where I have worked before, inspections are not necessary.
When planning the wedding walk, I always try to find and suggest new settings. I look for locations that are original, creative, evocative or intimate and which offer a memorable frame to the moments that follow the wedding ceremony. I try to suggests sites that help the newly-weds to relax and enjoy with spontaneity their first steps as a married couple.
When choosing the walk location, I devote specific attention to the logistic: I always aim at avoiding wasting time with long displacements or with walks that are so long that end up in your guests having to wait for the newly-weds for too long to celebrate with them!

Who will be in charge of shooting the wedding portfolio? Will it be you?
Absolutely. In this view, I chose not to accept too many wedding commitments per year, and, furthermore, I never do more than one wedding per day. I love to take care of every stage and of every aspect of the wedding, from picture taking to post-production. This is the only way in which I feel my work reflects my way of living and interpreting the wedding day. Every wedding portfolio I am entrusted with is executed with great passion and deep professionalism: these are the two grounding elements of my approach to enacting my job.

How can your services be booked?
The signing of a contract will formalize the agreement between the couple and me. The contract will clearly indicate the characteristics of the chosen wedding service, the type of photographic products that were agreed upon, time and place of the wedding day, etc. Furthermore, a 30% reservation payment will be needed to formally close the contract. The remaining 70% will be paid by the couple upon receipt of the wedding portfolio.

What type of camera will you be using during our wedding day?
I use cameras, lenses and flashes by NIKON. I employ very bright lenses in order to limit the use of the flash and make the most of the beauty of natural light. Flash will be rarely used and vehiculated through a specific diffuser which diffuse light in a more natural way.
